A collection of works painted during stage 4 lockdown.
I’m heavily referencing the abundant early Spring we have had in South Yarra. It really came at a perfect time, the week when lockdown began.
We are all at home, with only our windows. The wonderful thing about South Yarra is that the homes have the most beautiful front gardens. Every garden seems to have a camellia, magnolia, cherry blossoms, roses or vines - its all very beautiful. all the extra time to watch the change of season. a reminder of how slow time can move.
I've lived quite a different life the past 7 weeks. I've not needed fuel as everything can be accessed by foot or be delivered.
For inspiration, Ellie and I walked around our neighbourhood. 30 minute walks every few days kept my mind full of ideas and beautiful palettes. Our favourite street was the delicate Park Street, blossoms spilling over garden fences. A truly beautiful and uplifting sight. A big reason why I’ve been able to cope quite well for the past 7 weeks in lockdown and keep my creative mind fulfilled.
